My Online and Offline World

… DH is flying back to the home base  and we’re all excited to see and him back! We’ve been in constant communication, thanks to the wonders of online technology. YM, FB, Skype and emails have been the bridge to keep us in touch always. They’ve been doing some last minute shopping for presents for all of us back here. I reminded him about Dad’s request of his favorite flavored cigar and he said that he’ll just buy cigars online later tonight as the mall where they are going  today doesn’t have the brand for my Dad. Our kids are pretty much excited for their loots too. DH showed them yesterday the dolls, teddy bears and lots of crayons over our video chat. Ahaha!

Another school year has just ended for most of the students especially to those who are in elementary and preschool. My kids were already in vacation a week ago. DD is now staying over at my parents place, she’s enjoying her stay there as she gets to play with her cousin Dwyane. DS on the other hand remains at home, we asked if he miss Ate Gabby and he answered NO! ahaha! but we knew how he misses his Ate. It wouldn’t be for long, just a few days. It helps in such a way that its more peaceful at home now as you wouldn’t hear any shouting and fighting. LOL.

For the DD’s party at the end of the month, we will be moving around on a kinda tight budget, but we aim that DD will get to enjoy her party. We’re set to attend DH’s Uncle birthday celebration too by next month, it will be a grand party and sort of reunion to on their clan. We are just thinking to give him fruit baskets as a gift because according to DH, his uncle is a fruit lover. Being a doctor and in his 80′s, he’s really more careful now on his diet and only eats veggies and fruits.

I wasn’t able to buy my dad his requested gift last Christmas. My schedule was so tight that I had to resort to some last minute shopping and just grabbed whatever it is on the displayed gift ideas on the store. Glad that the long sleeved shirt that we bought perfectly fits on him. But as I browsed on my list of gifts to buy, I saw his request about cigars. Specifically the Dutch Master cigars which has been his all time favorite for its distinctive flavor and aroma. Now I need to get some of it and bring it in our next visit to my parents’ place probably by next week. It’s been three weeks since our last visit to them.

Finding a gift for someone is quite an exciting activity especially during this holiday season. But it’s kinda hard on choosing the right one that will suit the taste and preference of the recipient as you hardly know them personally. You may opt to go on the safe side like general items like souvenir items, calendars, pens, mugs, etc. as you need not worry because it definitely suit for both genders.Giving presents to a person that you know personally is easier as you have an idea what he or she wants or what would make him/ her happy.

Like a dear friend whom I’ve known since childhood years. I am thinking of giving him a shisha which is a tobacco smoke from the hookah- an instrument used which is also known as water pipes where the smoke is filtered through the water in it. It is also called hubbly bubbly  It is popular among Arab countries as it has been part of their culture and tradition since the older times. It also gain some followers throughout the world and mostly among younger crowds too, no doubt that my dear friend were also into it. He usually engage into using it with his fellow workers after office hours whenever they go out for some important matter to discuss  and he even said that there are some clubs and bars that offer such for socializing purposes.

So I am looking around on where to buy one for him as I know it that he will definitely appreciate it much. I asked some friends but they didn’t know any place that offers it. Good thing that I did research on the net and found out that there are online shops in US and Uk that offers it complete with other accessories like shisha pipe, bowl, hookah hose, stem and vase.
